Hyperice Normatec Premier Standard Legs Review
I’ll start with this: I am obsessed. I genuinely didn’t expect the Normatec boots to make such a noticeable difference, but after using them consistently, they’ve become one of the most-used pieces of recovery equipment I own. I’ve even had to Google whether you can use them too much because I use them after almost every session -and sometimes twice a day. cricket-info.homes

Quick Summary:
The Hyperice Normatec Premier Standard Legs are compression recovery boots designed to improve circulation and help athletes recover between training sessions.
For high-volume athletes, they’re an incredibly convenient way to support recovery without adding another complicated recovery routine to your day.
What we liked:
- They genuinely work - You can feel the difference almost immediately. My legs feel lighter and less fatigued after a session, and I notice the benefits again the following day.
- Better legs for the next session - One of the biggest things I’ve noticed is the lack of that heavy-leg feeling on the bike or run the day after a hard session.
- Extremely convenient - Put them on for 30 minutes while watching Netflix, eating, answering emails or just relaxing. It’s recovery without having to do much at all.
- They’ve replaced a lot of massages - They’ve saved me a serious amount of money on sports massages, which makes the investment feel much more worthwhile over time.
What to consider:
- They’re expensive – This is definitely a premium recovery product and a significant investment. For someone training a few hours a week, they may be difficult to justify.
- You’ll want to use them constantly – Once you realise how good your legs feel afterwards, it’s very easy to become slightly obsessed with putting them on after every session.
Who it’s for:
- High-volume and competitive triathletes.
- Athletes training multiple times per day.
- Anyone who regularly experiences heavy or fatigued legs between sessions.
- Athletes looking for a convenient recovery tool they’ll actually use consistently.
When to use it:
- After hard bike or run sessions.
- Between double-training sessions.
- After long endurance sessions.
- During recovery days when your legs need some extra attention.
Final thoughts:
There are a lot of recovery products out there that, if I’m being honest, feel a little gimmicky. The Normatec boots are not one of them. I wasn’t expecting them to make such a noticeable difference, but I now swear by them. I feel an immediate improvement after using them, and more importantly, I notice the difference in my next training session.
They’re expensive, but for me, they’ve been worth every penny - and they’ve probably paid for themselves in the massages I’m no longer booking. If you train seriously and recovery matters, I’d absolutely recommend them.
And really, why spend 30 minutes stretching when you can put these on, eat something and watch Netflix instead?
Athlete insight:
“I wasn’t expecting them to work as well as they do. I use them after almost every session now - and sometimes twice a day.”
Normatec Venom 2 review
Tested by David Hunt - Triathlete, Triathlon Coach and Sported Founder
The quick take
The Venom 2 Back combines heat and vibration massage in a lightweight, portable wrap designed for the lower back. It offers three heat levels and three vibration patterns, giving you plenty of combinations depending on whether you want a gentle warm-up or something a little more intensive after training.
For me, though, the real test isn't the specification sheet. It's whether something actually becomes part of my training and recovery routine. The Venom 2 Back has.
What is it?
The Venom 2 Back uses HyperHeat
technology to provide consistent heat across the lower back, combined with vibration massage. It's cordless once charged, relatively lightweight at 1kg, and has a battery life of up to three hours.
You get three heat settings - 45°C, 50°C and 55°C - together with three vibration patterns. That means you can adjust both the heat and massage depending on how you're feeling and when you're using it.
What we liked
First, it's incredibly easy to use. Charge it, put it on and you're ready to go. There is no complicated set-up and, because it's portable, you don't have to sit in one particular place while using it.
The combination of three heat levels and three vibration settings is particularly useful. Sometimes I simply want heat; at other times I prefer the combination of heat and vibration.
It's also light enough that using it doesn't feel like another recovery 'session' you have to fit into your day. That's probably one of the reasons I've ended up using it so consistently.
When do I use it?
One of my favourite times to use the Venom 2 Back is first thing in the morning.
I'll often put it on while making breakfast before heading out for a bike session. I find the heat helps loosen up my lower back and gets me moving before training. I also use it after particularly hard training days or sessions.
In practice, I quite often use it twice a day - once in the morning and again in the evening.
Who is it for?
I think the Venom 2 Back makes particular sense for triathletes, cyclists and other endurance athletes who regularly experience tightness or stiffness through the lower back and like using heat or massage as part of their normal recovery routine.
It's also useful for athletes who enjoy massage but can't - or don't want to - head to a massage therapist every time they feel stiff after a hard training block.
What to consider
There isn't much of a learning curve here. The bigger danger is that once you've incorporated it into your routine, you may find yourself reaching for it rather frequently.
And while it obviously isn't a replacement for professional treatment when you actually need it, I've certainly found myself feeling less inclined to book a massage simply because my back feels a little stiff.
Final thoughts
The Venom 2 Back has genuinely become one of my most-used recovery products.
I've always had a tendency towards lower-back stiffness, particularly first thing in the morning. After around two months of regular and consistent use, I've noticed a considerable improvement in that morning stiffness. I feel looser and able to move more freely much sooner after getting up.
What I like most is its simplicity. There are plenty of recovery products that look impressive but end up sitting unused in a cupboard. This isn't one of them. I use mine regularly — often twice a day — because it's quick, convenient and fits easily around training and everyday life.
Sported verdict: A simple, highly usable piece of recovery kit that has earned a permanent place in my daily routine.

Rafael Leao leaving AC Milan for Galatasaray
Rome: AC Milan forward Rafael Leao said he is leaving the Serie A club after seven seasons, with Turkish champions Galatasaray expected to be his next destination.
The Portuguese forward watched from the sidelines as Milan beat Venezia 2-0 on Friday, with club record signing Goncalo Ramos breaking the deadlock on his home debut.
"It's a tough moment saying goodbye to my teammates after seven years," he told reporters after the game.
"My love for the club will never leave me and I'll always follow them."
Leao scored 80 goals in 291 games for Milan and was a key figure in their 2021-22 Serie A triumph, but concerns over his commitment and declining production clouded the end of his time at the club.
Galatasaray will reportedly pay 45 million euros ($52 million).
Milan are rebuilding under former Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim after missing Champions League qualification on the final day of last season.
They spent 74 million euros to acquire Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain and have won their opening two games of the new campaign.
