Will Aaron Judge Be Available For Yankees' ALDS Series vs. Rays?
The New York Yankees surged its way to the American League Division Series after its two-game sweep over the Boston Red Sox. And yet, the Yankees' dominant series win came without star Aaron Judge. Judge has been out with a calf strain injury since Sept. 19, when the Yankees originally moved him to the 10-day injured list. Especially as the Yankees creep towards its next postseason series against the Tampa Bay Rays, Judge's timeline and likeliness of making the 26-man roster this weekend is still unknown. The Yankees have until Saturday morning to submit their final rosters ahead of Game 1 at 6:30 p.m. in St. Petersburg, Florida. If Judge were to be added to the roster, it would be his first roster appearance this postseason run for New York. Manager Aaron Boone provided clarity on Judge ahead of submitting the roster, and gave a status update on Judge’s health. "The trainers will obviously play a big part in this. As the day unfolds, we'll see where we're at and what it potentially looks like for the series," Boone said. Although Judge has been a part of live batting practice, Boone is still weighing in how, and when, Judge can be utilized against the Rays. "It's just as far as him and the field, potentially," Boone said. "But we're looking at the days and so it's more, 'Is he going to be available at some point in this series, potentially, as a player?' That's what we're kind of weighing and then seeing where he's at now these last few days having taken live [batting practice]." The Yankees' postseason run continues tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. in a three-game divisional series against the Rays. catcross.biz
Five teams face an 0-4 start — and only one 0-4 team has ever made the playoffs
Week 4 is here, and five teams are still looking for their first victory of 2026.
The Dolphins, Texans, Titans, Chargers, and Buccaneers are all 0-3. Only seven teams (most recently, the 2025 Texans) have made the playoffs after an 0-3 start.
None of the five teams play each other this weekend, which means all five could still be winless come Monday. Any that land at 0-4 will be facing a steep climb to the postseason.
Only one team in NFL history has qualified for the playoffs after starting 0-4. In 1992, the Chargers under first-year coach Bobby Ross turned it around and secured the AFC West crown. The Chargers won 11 of their 12 final games of the season.
The Chargers advanced through the wild-card round with a 17-0 win over the Chiefs, who had swept the Chargers during the regular season. The next week, the Dolphins eliminated the Chargers with a 31-0 blowout.
With 17 games and seven playoff spots per conference, it's easier than ever for a team to turn it around after an 0-4 start. Still, many 0-4 teams start that way for a reason; they're not very good. The 1992 Chargers were much better than their early-season record indicated, and they made it all the way to the final eight.
Antonelli Tops FP3 After Mercedes Struggles
Kimi Antonelli led the way in FP3 at the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia, bouncing back after Mercedes struggled in earlier practice sessions. The championship-leading team had brought a heavily upgraded W17 to Sepang but managed only second and fifth in FP1 and seventh and eighth in FP2 with other teams looking stronger.
The Silver Arrows responded perfectly on Saturday morning, with Antonelli setting the pace as Mercedes appears to have addressed the issues that hampered their performance on Friday.
