Orioles call up Gibson to start vs. Yankees

Baltimore Orioles will activate top pitching prospect Trey Gibson to start against New York Yankees on Sunday, as confirmed by manager Craig Albernaz.

The Orioles are calling up their No. 3 prospect, 23-year-old right-hander Trey Gibson, from Triple-A to start against the Yankees on Sunday. Gibson has a 4.01 ERA in Triple-A this season with 25 strikeouts and 12 walks in 24 2/3 innings. The 6-foot-5 right-hander joins a Baltimore team that sits at 15-17, six games out of first place in the AL East.
