Alex Palou maintained his IndyCar championship lead despite Kyle Kirkwood's victory in the Freedom 250 Grand Prix.

Palou entered the Washington D.C. race weekend with a 133-point advantage and secured pole position. However, an uncharacteristically messy day for Palou opened the door for Kirkwood, who captured the checkered flag.
