Bears-Panthers sets Week 1 scoring record

Published September 13, 2026 · Updated September 13, 2026 · NBC Sports

The Bears and Panthers made NFL history on Sunday as Chicago's 59-37 road victory became the highest-scoring Week 1 game in league history.

The Bears-Panthers game produced 96 combined points, surpassing the previous Week 1 record of 88 set by the Buccaneers-Saints matchup in 2018. The 59-37 final score marked the first time in NFL history a game ended with that exact result.

Both teams scored their highest point totals in a single game, though it wasn't the Bears' highest-scoring effort ever, as they previously scored 61 points in regular season games during the 1965 and 1980 seasons. trojkonferencja2024.pl
