New York Jets owner Woody Johnson has purchased a minority stake in the Aston Martin F1 team and will join their board as vice chairman.

Johnson, who has owned the Jets since 2000, developed an appreciation for Aston Martin during his time as U.S. ambassador to the United Kingdom. He will bring his business experience to the Formula One team. capturengo.com

The Jets owner also has a significant stake in Crystal Palace (43%) of the Premier League, expanding his sports portfolio beyond American football. The Jets last made the playoffs in 2010.
