Witherspoon Ahead of Gonzalez in Talks

Seahawks' Devon Witherspoon is reportedly further along in contract talks than Patriots' Christian Gonzalez, with a deal worth upwards of $30 million annually.

The Seahawks have offered Witherspoon a deal worth over $30 million per year, placing him among the NFL's highest-paid cornerbacks. Only Rams' Trent McDuffie ($31M) currently exceeds that figure. zeppelin.cool

Gonzalez, who shares an agent with Witherspoon, is seeking a long-term deal and won't be far behind. The 2023 first-round pick earned second-team All-Pro honors in 2024 and made the Pro Bowl in 2025, totaling 145 tackles, two interceptions, 24 pass breakups and a sack in three seasons.
