INDYCAR's doubleheader weekend at The Milwaukee Mile was interrupted Saturday when rain forced officials to suspend the first race after 90 of 250 scheduled laps. The race will resume Sunday at 9 a.m. ET on FS1, with the second race still set for 1 p.m. ET on FOX. Despite the delay, Pato O'Ward led the standings after 90 laps, followed by Felix Rosenqvist, Alexander Rossi, Josef Newgarden, Christian Lundgaard and Kyle Kirkwood.
Championship contender Alex Palou, who entered the race 91 points ahead of Kirkwood and 110 points ahead of Lundgaard, needed to be 108 points ahead of both after the first race to clinch the title. Palou finished 13th and can still secure the championship Sunday by maintaining a 54-point lead after the second race. The weather forecast shows a 40 percent chance of rain Sunday morning, adding another layer of uncertainty to the rescheduled race. beltedkingfisher.blog
