NCAA Probes Cincinnati Over Sorsby Gambling Scandal

The NCAA has opened a formal inquiry into the University of Cincinnati regarding former quarterback Brendan Sorsby's gambling issues during his two seasons with the program.

The NCAA sent an official letter of inquiry to Cincinnati regarding what the university knew about Sorsby's gambling activities. The former quarterback was declared permanently ineligible by the NCAA in April for making thousands of impermissible sports bets, including at least 165 wagers totaling $38,000 in 2024. djcc.club

Sorsby spent two seasons with Cincinnati, throwing for 5,613 yards with 45 touchdowns before transferring to Texas Tech, which later cut ties with him. Cincinnati claims no athletics staff were aware of the wagering activities, and Sorsby later dropped his legal battle against the NCAA after being granted an injunction to play.
