Red Sox Keep Bello on Rotation, May Use Opener

Brayan Bello is listed as the Red Sox’ probable starter for Tuesday’s game in Detroit, but interim manager Chad Tracy suggested the team might use an opener to aid Bello’s performance.

Chad Tracy confirmed Bello will start the second game of the series, ending speculation about his spot in the rotation. Tracy said the team could use an opener before Bello to manage the bullpen and give him a better matchup against the Tigers’ lineup.
