Salas Returns to MLB Top 100

Padres catcher Ethan Salas has re-entered MLB Pipeline's top 100 prospects list at No. 100, joining LHP Kruz Schoolcraft as the system's only two top prospects.

After an impressive first month with the Double-A San Antonio Missions, Salas has shown why he was highly regarded as a 17-year-old prospect. The 20-year-old catcher, who missed most of last season due to a back injury, has reportedly gained 15-20 pounds and worked on refining his mental approach and swing. In his last six games, Salas is slashing .353/.463/.810 with three homers. realschule-moosburg.de

In other Padres news, centerfielder Ryan Wideman is ranked No. 4 in the Padres system by ESPN, while the Lake Elsinore Storm leads the California League South Division with a 17-10 record. Undrafted free agent Qrey Lott is hitting .400/.500/.750 with a 1.250 OPS in his first eight games with the Storm.
