Torrential hailstorm forced abandonment of Vuelta a España stage three in the Pyrenees with 15km remaining.

Organizers abandoned the 174km third stage from Gruissan to Font-Romeu as riders faced huge hailstones while climbing Col de Mont-Louis. Cyclists were seen seeking shelter in hotels along the route.
