Arizona Sweeps NAU, Faces Clemson in NCAA

8th-seeded Arizona defeated NAU 4-0 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, advancing to face Clemson in the second round Saturday.

The Wildcats won their opening NCAA match for the sixth consecutive season, with Jay Friend, Filip Gustafsson and Alejandro Arcila each winning in straight sets. Arizona's match took less than 90 minutes to complete.

Clemson defeated Ole Miss 4-3 in their first-round match, needing 3-set victories from its No. 1 and No. 5 singles players. The teams faced each other in January, splitting eight singles matches with Arizona winning four of five doubles contests. cat-cross.com
