Hermoso skips Genoa match as injury persists
Bad news for Roma on the injury front. Hermoso has thrown in the towel and will be unavailable for the away match against Genoa.
According to Il Tempo, the Spanish defender had hoped to return to the squad this week, but the pain in his iliopsoas hasn’t completely disappeared.
Even in the last session, Hermoso performed individualized work, a sign that his recovery isn’t yet complete.
The Giallorossi medical staff has therefore decided not to take any risks, postponing his return until next week, when the defender will be able to attempt to return to training with the rest of the team.

Japan's push for a second-straight World Baseball Classic title begins with a bout against Chinese Taipei on Friday morning.
Japan vanquished all comers en route to a famous WBC win in 2023. Shohei Ohtani showed out en route to the championship, claiming tournament MVP honors after posting a 1.345 OPS across 33 plate appearances and recording a 1.86 ERA in two starts. He famously whiffed Mike Trout to deliver another crown to Japan's collection, its third in its history.
Three years on, Japan looks as strong as ever. Ohtani headlines the Hirokazu Ibata-helmed side. He's not the only standout set to take the pitch in Japanese pinstripes. Japan boasts arguably the tournament's best rotation, with World Series MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto slated to serve as the ace after Ohtani opted against pitching. Yusei Kikuchi, Tomoyuki Sugano and Hiroto Takahashi make up the rest of the four-man unit, making for an intimidating sight for opposition hitters.
Japan's lineup is similarly loaded, with Seiya Suzuki, Munetaka Murakami and Masataka Yoshida all expected to get some buzz.
Japan is the only side that has claimed back-to-back WBC titles, doing so in 2006 and 2009. Can Japan repeat the feat 17 years later? Only time will tell.
With that, here's the broadcasting information for Japan's first game of its WBC slate, a matchup with Chinese Taipei.

Iran women’s football team sing national anthem at Asian Cup just days after silent protest
The Iran women's football team sang and saluted their national anthem before their Women's Asian Cup match against Australia on Thursday, a marked shift from their silent protest ahead of their opening game.
This earlier silence, observed before Monday's loss to South Korea, had been widely interpreted as either an act of defiance against the regime or a gesture of mourning for those affected by ongoing conflicts.
The team, however, offered no official clarification for their initial stance.
In a poignant press conference preceding the Australia fixture, Iranian striker Sara Didar became visibly emotional.
She shared the profound concerns held by both players and management for the safety and well-being of their families and loved ones amid the escalating conflict in the Middle East.
The 21-year-old Didar was a substitute for Thursday's game, which was played in pouring rain on the Gold Coast, where Iran is scheduled to compete in all three of its Group A matches.
The Iranian squad had arrived in Australia well before the recent strikes by Israel and the United States on Iran last Saturday, adding another layer of tension to their presence.
This fluctuating approach to the national anthem mirrors a similar situation involving the Iranian men’s team during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The men's squad notably refrained from singing their anthem before their initial defeat against England, as significant domestic turmoil overshadowed the start of their campaign.
In a subsequent match against Wales, however, the men sang along to the anthem and celebrated their goals. Iran beat Wales 2-0 in that match, but failed to qualify from their group.
That World Cup appearance coincided with a brutal crackdown on a major women’s protest movement within Iran, sparked by the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini while in the custody of the country’s morality police.
