Gerrard urges Liverpool to drop Gakpo after Wolves loss

Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has criticized Cody Gakpo's performance in the 2-1 defeat to Wolves, urging Arne Slot to drop the forward.

Gerrard believes the Dutchman should be replaced by teenager Rio Ngumoha, noting the youngster made a greater impact in a cameo appearance than Gakpo did in 65 minutes.

"He has to start Ngumoha now. He has to start him because he’s coming on and he’s doing more in a short cameo... than Gakpo’s doing in 65, 70 minutes," Gerrard told TNT Sports.
